2010s History

2009-2010 School Year
  • 350 incoming freshman participated in the recent Summer Bridge Program created by Hope Through Housing Foundation, a nonprofit organization the offers enrichment services. 30 to 40 freshmen participated each week. They learned how to read transcripts, graduation and college requirements, standardized testing requirements, and school rules and regulations. Students toured the Eisenhower campus and on the final day they discussed good study habits. Counselor Shellie Dansby-Hall and Security Officer Kevin Bishop led the coursework.
  • Alex Varner was recognized by the John R. Wooden Award Committee as the Division II basketball player of the year. He was honored at a banquet along with the college players. He received a plaque and $300 was awarded to the school's athletic fund in his honor.
  • Eldred Marshall IV, class of '99, performed with the San Bernardino Symphony. Marshall, the Salutatorian for the class of '99, also attended Yale University. Marshall learned to play piano at age 6 and has performed throughout the United States and Europe.
  • Congratulations to Lisa Chat who placed 6th in the nation in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Principles and Procedures at the FBLA National Conference in Anaheim on June 25-28. Lisa placed 3rd in this event at the FBLA Section Conference at Santiago High School which qualified her to compete at the National Conference.
  • Clinay Cameron ('09) started school at UC Berkeley. Unlike most incoming high school graduates, Clinay already had her Associates Degree. Clinay was a member of the EHS College Academy which began four years ago where students take high school and San Bernardino Valley College classes at the same time.
  • October 17, 2009, Eisenhower High School celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a day long event including: carnival, car show, and the induction of 8 alumni into the new Alumni Hall of Fame. Photos from the day are available in the Ike Photo Gallery.

  • Eight Eagles Inducted Into Alumni Hall of Fame. They are Randy Thomas, Ronnie Lott, Jeffrey Polk, David Lang, Craig Newsome, Ted Chronopolous ,Issiah "Iz" Avila, and Ryan Clady. Full details of the honorees are on the Ike in the News page.
  • The evening was capped off with the renaming of the football stadium, Ronnie Lott Stadium.

  • The boys' basketball team repeated as CIF-SS Champs, the first time an Eisenhower basketball team has earned back-to-back championships.

2010-2011 School Year
  • The Golden Eagle Marching Regiment competed in the Heritage HS Band Field Competition on Saturday, 10-23. The Band won Sweepstakes (top honor), Percussion won sweepstakes (top honor) and Colorguard won first place in points. The EHS Golden Eagle Marching Regiment has been offered, and has accepted, a berth in the SCJA State Championships on Nov 20 at Huntington Beach HS.
  • Denise Torres who competed in Chicago at the National FHA Conference this past week. She earned a Silver Medal in the Job Application/Interview event.
  • The Ed Block Courage Award is an annual award presented to a player from each team in the NFL. Players from the teams vote for a member of their team. Ryan Clady, class of '04, was the 2010 recipient.
  • Coach Steve Johnson came in #8 in the San Bernardino Sun's list of the area's best of the year 2010. He was recognized for his success at coaching the Eisenhower Boys' Basketball team.
  • The French Club took a trip to London and France during spring break

  • The Athletic Director's office was moved into E-6 and space was also provided for athletes to come in and study or relax and admire memorabilia from Ike Sports history.

  • Australian band "Set Sail" performed for students during lunch
  • Junior U.S. History students visited the Richard Nixon Library

  • Eisenhower senior, Rosa Rivera, participated in the Stanford Pre-Med summer internship program. She was the only high school student from southern California.
  • Lisa Marie Varon (Sol), class of '89, a 13-year professional wrestler came to the Citizens Business Bank Arena as part of the Total Nonstop Action (TNA) show.
  • Luis Martinez, senior, was mentioned in the San Bernardino Sun in the Prep Baseball Statistics. Martinez was listed 3rd in San Bernardino county in the Hitting Leaders category with 21 hits, 39 at bats, and a .538 batting average.

  • Ansh Bhagat, junior at Ike, was featured recently in the Rialto Record. Ansh was recognized for the college courses he took at UC Riverside during the summer sessions of his Freshman and Sophomore years. He currently has a 4.0 GPA and has received numerous recognitions throughout his education.
  • Academic Decathlon and Art History students toured the Norton Simon museum

  • Prom was held in Orange County where students had the opportunity to ride in a tethered helium balloon throughout the evening


  • Senior Jerrion Burton signed his letter of intent to attend New Mexico State University on a football scholarship. Members of the football team as well as family members and friends were on hand to witness the ceremony. Jerrion, a member of the Citrus Belt League champion Eagles, was recognized earlier in the year by the San Bernardino Sun as a Second Team Defensive Player.

2013-2014 School Year
  • Ansh Bhagat, Valedictorian of Eisenhower High School, graduated with one of the highest GPA’s in the County, 4.72. He will be attending Yale University (with less than 100 students in the state headed to the Ivy League School). “I have to thank my parents who have been with me all my life, through the good and the bad. They loved me and I could not stand here today, if it wasn’t for them.” He was recognized in several area newspapers.
  • Darnell Coles, class of '80, was recently named manager of the Milwaukee Brewers Triple-A team in Nashville. Previously, Coles had a 14 year MLB career and worked as an ESPN baseball analyst from 2001-06.
  • Teachers and staff worked at McDonald's as part of the McTeacher's Night fundraiser

  • The EHS Pep Squad competed at the Sharp International (4 day) Extreme Camp at the Pasadena Convention Center. They walked away with numerous medals and trophy's including 2nd place in stunting and the Grand Champion - Most Spirited.


  • Ryan Clady ('04), an All-Pro offensive tackle for the Denver Broncos, has donated over $25,000 in football equipment. Clady will be donating the equipment through his charity the SKC Foundation, named for his late mother, Sharon Kemp Clady, who passed away from heart disease. The foundation’s primary purpose is youth development with a specific focus on youth development programs. The donated equipment includes 60 Xenith helmets (, 60 Shock Doctorfive-pad girdles (, 55 pairs of Nike cleats for varsity players, and 60 Cutters gloves.

  • Eisenhower High School hosted Relay for Life to support the fight against cancer. The Relay is a 24 hour long walking event.

2014-2015 School Year
  • Two athletes signed Letters of Intent. Aaryon Green signed to Division I Long Beach State. Fred Scott signed to Arizona Christian.
  • The Pacific Islanders Club hosted the first ever Dancing With the Staff competition. Math teacher Mrs. Olga Pesantes-Mills and her student partner Jorge Mendoza Camacho win the competition.

  • The Auto Collision and Repair class restored Principal Sparks' cart.

2015-2016 School Year
  • The Rialto Fire Department and AMR combined forces to offer an amazing opportunity to our students at EHS. They offered free training to approximately 2200 students on January 29, 2016, in our gym. The training was offered all day and was scheduled through the English department during all six periods. Students learned how to properly give the chest compression portion of CPR during this 5 – 7 min training.

  • French students from Eisenhower and Carter high schools went to the Getty Museum
  • Final games played on the current football field. As part of the Rialto bond (Measure Y), EHS will be getting a new stadium.

  • As part of Super Bowl 50, EHS received special commemorative golden footballs honoring the three Ike alumni who played in Super Bowls. They are: Ronnie Lott ('77) - Super Bowls 16, 19, 23, 24, David Lang ('86) - Super Bowl 30, and Craig Newsome ('89) - Super Bowl 31

  • Baseball team played an international preseason game vs South Korea.

  • Ronnie Lott, class of '77 - Hometown Hall of Famer. Lott unveiled a plaque from the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Ford Motor Company recognizing Rialto as the official hometown of Ronnie Lott. The plaque was dedicated to Eisenhower High School and will be mounted on the new football stadium upon its completion.

  • The City of Rialto in partnership with State Farm funded the painting of a mural in the south parking lot. It was painted by Michael Howard of some of our Ike students.

  • End of an era. The football stadium is torn down in preparation for construction of a new and improved stadium. Construction also began on the new Performing Arts building. Look at the old press box sitting all by itself.

  • ASB, AVID, and Interact hosted Campus Clean Up. 141 students participated for a total of 564 hours of service.  They picked up trash, washed windows and doors, swept gutters, and gave an overall shine to our campus.  Students were there representing Drama, Pacific Islanders, Link Crew, AVID, ASB, Ballet Folklorico, Interact, Cancer Club, Cheer, Ike Step team, HOSA, and French Club.

  • May 10, 2018 Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the new stadium. Ronnie Lott and family were in attendance. After the ceremony, held during 5th period so all students and staff could attend, a luncheon and meet and greet was held in the gym.

2018-2019 School Year
  • Installation of a MakerSpace lab. The lab contains a CNC machine, a Makerbot Replicator (3D printer), a Roland mill, a Metal mill and Metal lathe, a Laser cutter, and a 3D Digital Laser. Students prepared their projects utilizing Inventor software and MasterCam software.

  • August 17, 2018 - First football home opener in the newly renovated Ronnie Lott Stadium. The team takes the field for the first time and score their first touchdown.

  • The football team finished the regular season undefeated 10-0 and San Andreas League champs! Football wins CIF-SS Division 10 Championships. It has been 25 years since the '93 team defeated Mater Dei for the CIF title.

  • Football finished the season 14-1 with a trip to the CIF State regional playoff vs Kaiser High School.

2018 Football

  • Senior Signing Day.

  • Make a Wish foundation of Orange County and the Inland Empire came to Eisenhower High School. As the Make A Wish website states, "We create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses." A member of the boys tennis team was their recipient. He could have asked for a wish for himself and his family. Instead, he asked for new gear for his team.
  • Captain Luster and Ms. Barbara Roadarmel accompanied several cadets to Washington D.C. and the United States Marine Corps Base Quantico. While there, they visited the FBI Academy, the home of Mary Washington (George Washington's mother), the National Mall, Command and Staff College, and the Lincoln Memorial. They also toured inside the White House, the James Monroe Museum, the Battle of Fredericksburg, Officer Candidate School, Officer Basic School, and the National Museum of the Marine Corps. The trip began with a layover in a very snowy Denver and ended with a nighttime view of the Capitol.
  • Eighth grade students from the surrounding middle schools of Rialto Unified came to visit the Eisenhower campus on March 7 and 8, 2019. The Student Leadeship and Link Crew students hosted the students and provided them with several activities. During lunch, several clubs, organizations, and sports set up booths by the football field to recruit the incoming freshman and acquaint them with life at Eisenhower.
  • Olivia Calderas was a 3 sport athlete. She signed her letter of intent to Central Arizona College
